ABOUT

Engineer, product-minded, and a relentless finisher.

Samuel Ventura.

I'm a software engineer based in Brazil. I take products from nothing to shipped: the architecture, the decisions about what's worth building, and the last pixel of the screen it runs on.

Most of what I've built started with nothing in place — no infrastructure, no map architecture, no release process. That's the work I like: choosing the shape of the thing, then being the one who has to live with the choice. Off the clock you'll find me deep in sci-fi, old films, and maps of places I haven't been yet.

Founding Engineer · Apps, Maps & Infrastructure

No infrastructure, no map architecture — and maps that didn't load at all.

I decided to structure and cache GeoJSON and serve vector tiles instead of raw geometry. That call is why the maps now render tens of thousands of points instead of failing. Same reasoning on the field apps: offline-first, because crews work where there's no signal. Since then I've shipped features across all four apps, moved releases to Fastlane, and got field data collection about 99% more accurate. The platform is now in use across government.

Software Engineer

Every white-label client site was assembled by hand, from scratch.

As one of the lead devs, I pushed for Backstage (Spotify's developer platform) as the generator instead of another template repo. Setup went from hours of manual work to a few steps, and each client's variations became configuration instead of code. This was before you could hand the boring parts to AI.

Software Engineer Intern

Public-facing sites with no one maintaining them.

My first taste of shipping real software. I kept the company's websites running and built new features along the way.
